Nancy
Jazz Vocalist

Growing up in the seaside town of Sidney, B.C., Canada, vocalist Nancy Ruth was influenced by the music of her grandfather, who introduced her to jazz at an early age. Family jam sessions ignited her passion, and after classical studies in voice, piano and theatre she began a performance career which has taken her to clubs, hotels, theatres and cruise ships around the world. Always eager to travel and explore genres, Nancy has worked with jazz pianist Bob Albanese in NYC, Panamanian composer Toño Ribera, and in Spain, she studied with flamenco cantaor Pepe Cañete, and guitarist Julen Fernández.
For one of her most unusual gigs to date, she took the opportunity to learn to sing in Malay and Indonesian while she was a featured guest artist in the Palace of the Sultan of Brunei. An avid songwriter, Nancy released a self- titled, critically acclaimed album of her own compositions in 1998. Returning to her love of the standard song, Nancy Ruth has just released her second CD, It's Got to Be Love.

Nancy will be available for concerts and gigs at the end of the summer.
