Unlike the traditional jazz group backing a female singer, today's harried, busy guests are more inclined to relax to and enjoy the performance of pleasant, accessible instrumental jazz. Patrons seem particularly interested in guitar .performances.

Biography

Ruben is a guitar player with an explosive sound, and style and a unique compositional drive. His high energy, emotionally driven trio takes on a varied list of imaginative, original tunes that have been revered by a diverse range of audiences.

Since 2000, they have become recognized by industry professionals for both their music and their devoted and ever-growing following.

In July of 2002, they travelled to Europe and played in several clubs and festivals around Glasgow, Edinburgh, and several cities in The Netherlands, being featured as the closing act in The Royal Bank of Scotland's Glasgow Jazz festival and mainstage at The Jazz Comes To Town festival in Epe, Holland.

The trio consists of bassist Steve , drummer Kevin and guitarist/composer Ruben.

One of One of the few rules the band observes is "never say never." With this simple tenet as guide, they have found possibility everywhere. Jungle, funk, jazz, and eclectic combinations with both mainstream genres and international flavours are all used in a miraculous fusion that slips through varied time signatures in a single song, winging happily through complicated themes, landing briefly on simple grooves before whirling, grinding or lilting off again.

Here in the land of possibility there is something for everyone, and the band has a devoted, enthusiastic following that swells at every interval. In a short time Jamie Ruben and the guys on his exotic ranch have realized Jamie's original idea, and are asking some good questions.
